From the Coast to the Oasis: Marine Life and Thrills in the Dunes
The day begins very early (2:00 a.m.) with a transfer to the Cruz del Sur bus terminal to travel to Paracas.
Upon arriving at the tourist pier, we’ll board a speedboat to explore Peru’s largest marine reserve. Along the way, you’ll be able to see the “El Candelabro” geoglyph. We’ll observe marine wildlife up close, including large colonies of seabirds such as guanay, boobies, pelicans, and cormorants.
Arrival in Ica with free time to have lunch and sample traditional dishes such as rice with duck or sopa seca. Later, we’ll visit a traditional winery to learn about the winemaking process and enjoy a complimentary tasting of wines, creams, macerated wines, and pisco.
We will visit the Huacachina Lagoon, an oasis surrounded by palm trees and legends. Here you can shop for local handicrafts and sweets such as chocotejas. Finally, we will experience the ultimate adrenaline rush by exploring the dunes in buggies and sandboarding on the sand.
Return trip to Lima by bus, ending the tour in the city.
