Overview

The Trekking Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu 4D/ 3N will treat us to the wonder Salkantay and Vilcabamba mountains. We're going to pass high passes, pall timbers, gutters, and  marvel at the wildness of the Andes. With each day will come adventure, some challenges but all rewarded with amazing views.

We shall hike up over now-covered mountains, glaciers and turquoise lakes, sightseeing llamas, alpacas and colorful wildlife. We will be kept active by the fresh mountain and the beautiful scenery. Smaller villages on the path will allow us to interact with local people and their life engagements.

The nights will be spent in comfortable camps or lodges, where warm meals will be taken and a pleasant rest secured to the following day. Along the route will be hot springs, and we will have a perfect rest after long walks.

We'll arrive in Aguas Calentes and prepare to go to Machu Picchu on the bottom. Machu Picchu climbing will give us spectacular sights of the stronghold, sundecks and  tabernacle. The combination of nature, history and adventure will be memorable.

Day 1

Cuzco – Soraypampa – Humantay Lagoon – Soraypampa

It is not till 5:00 A.M. that we will leave Cuzco and have the pleasure of riding privately through the valleys of the Andes. There will be the appearance of llamas, alpacas and small villages. The drive is going to last approximately two hours. Even the landscape will be an adventure in itself.
We will first breakfast at Soraypampa, 3,900 m. high, and prepare to do a little walk. The lodge will provide a comfortable place to sleep and make ready. During the night, we will use sleeping bags. The following day will be a tough hike that will be discussed by our guides.
Humantay Lagoon will be four hours round trip. The snow-capped mountains and glaciers will be reflected in the turquoise waters. We will pause and acquire photographs and enjoy the scenery. Everybody will be refreshed by new mountain air.
Tales of myths and spirituality of the lagoon will be told by our guides. Flora We shall marvel at the native flora on the path. Then back to Soraypampa where we shall have dinner and rest. The Andean peaks will be covered in stars in the sky.

Day 2

Soraypampa – Salkantay Pass – Challuay

We will have breakfast at 6: 00 AM that will provide the energy to the climb to Salkantay Pass at 4, 620 meters. The path will climb gradually over through glacial rivers and snowy peaks. We shall take frequent stops to take pictures. The scenery of Nevado Salkantay will be unbelievable.
This is going to be the most difficult day on the journey. We shall experience the elevation and the physical difficulty. Stunning landscapes will be the prize of each of the steps. Andes will be uncivilized and strong.
Beyond the pass we shall enter cloud forest. Exotic plants and wildlife will be planted in the green valleys. Lunch will be in Huayracmachay village that is an ideal break point. The hearty traditional meals will be served by locals.
The last two hour walk will lead to the Challuay lodge. We will see llamas, alpacas and Andean birds on our way. The dinner will be served at the lodge and the stories told about the campfire. We are going to sleep far ahead of like the following day jungle hike.

Day 3

Challuay – Hidroeléctrica – Aguas Calientes

At 5:30 A.M. we will wake and begin hiking between the Inca Trail towards Winaypocco. We will be surrounded by tropical cloud canopies, agrarian lands and rivers. Fruits on the road will make us refreshed. We are going to have a beautiful sight of Vilcanota River.
Oroya will see us off by private means to Playa Sawayaco. In this case we will pay a visit to a local coffee farm. We are going to try freshly roasted coffee and will learn the traditional skills. The walk along the train tracks up Hidroelectrica will expose falls, various green vegetations, and wildlife. The trail shall be decorated with birds and butterflies. Any place will be a picture-perfect postcard. We will make photo breaks and stops.
Aguas Calientes will be met in the afternoon. Stores, cafes, and an easy atmosphere will be eager to meet the town. We may bathe in hot springs to revive ourselves after the hike. The evening preparation will concentrate on the early Machu Picchu visit.

Day 4

Machu Picchu – Return to Cuzco

The coming day we'd be leaving very early in the morning, so as to be in Machu Picchu before the sun comes out. As we walk to the entrance, we will be caught up with the sight of the Inca’s lost city. As we walk to the entrance, we will be caught up with the sight of the lost city. Terraces, temples, stonework will be in the morning light. All perspectives will provide spectacular shooting possibilities.

The Temple of the three windows, Intiwatana, and the main plaza will be part of the guided tour. Things that guides will discuss are Inca culture, astronomy, and architecture. The optional increases will provide panoramic views of Huayna Picchu and Machu Picchu Mountain.

We shall increase in the terraces and secret places of the citadel. Every one of the steps will disclose the new angles and perspectives. The pristine natural beauty and the history will make memories.

Noting that we will nurse back Aguas Calientes after the tour (not included) back to our lunch. We shall be riding the train to Cuzco and our hotel will be privately transported. This 4D/3N journey will be topped off with recollections of adventure and Andean scenery.
