Overview

Our Short Inca Trail Cuzco 2D/ 1N will be a fast adventure with high power at its very beginning. We shall take our departure out of Cuzco in the early morning, and proceed to the Sacred Valley. It will be smooth riding along as we track the train station along Urubamba River. At KM 104 we will continue our tour and our guide will explain the plan and will provide some useful advice.

Our starting point of the hike will be KM 104 and then we will be surrounded by fresh air from the mountain. Our path will take us out of the archeological evidence and green valleys of undisturbed Andean light. Walking along the route that leads to Winay Wayna which is one of the greatest Inca sites we will explore. The landscape will be not real and will consist of terraces, stone walls, and jungles.

The hike will resume afterward after some rest at Inti Punku. This will be a spectacular place to have Machu Picchu above eye view. We shall indulge in photos and have the initial silent view of the ruins. This will next be followed by Aguas Calientes, where we will spend the night in a town hotel.

The second day will be the early rise in the morning followed by the first bus to Machu Picchu. The sunlight in the morning will provide us with an excellent opportunity to explore the place. Each and every temple and plaza has a history and culture that will be explained to us by our guide. We shall take time to visit all the places and then back down to Aguas Calientes to board the train back to Cuzco .

Day 1

Cuzco – Short Inca Trail – Wiñay Wayna – Inti Punku – Aguas Calientes

Our instance will commence early in the morning with the hotel pick up at 4:00 to 5.00 A.M. in the historical center of Cuzco . Our guide will speak two languages who will give us the safety rules and equip us for the adventure. Our transportation will be buses to a point where we will have a clear view of the Sacred Valley.

The climb begins along excellent self-improved trails through the cloud forests and slick Andean mountains. There will be peculiar plants, local birds and Inca constructions along the path. We shall go on till we come to an archaeological site called Winay Wayna that has terraces and old stairways. Our guide will show the engineering skills and culture of this wonderful complex.

Our box lunch will be taken near Winay Wayna, and we will take a short rest thereafter and proceed with Inti Punku, Sun Gate. And it is in this perspective that we shall adopt the initial panoramic perspective of Machu Picchu, with the great mountains and its deep valleys.. The time will be ideal in terms of photography. The descent will end up at Aguas Calientes where we will spend the night at a nice hostel.

Day 2

Machu Picchu Guided Tour – Return to Cuzco

We will also get up early in the morning and have breakfast in the hostel. Afterwards, we shall have a brief stroll to the gate of Machu Picchu to have a complete guided tour. Examining the history and architecture of Inca, we will go through the temples, plazas, terraces and ceremonial areas of the citadel.
Through the tour, there will be sufficient time to take photos and to have the spectacular views of the surrounding peaks. Our guide will explain the astronomical significance of the place and the religious implication of the buildings.
The visit will be coupled with the train ride back to Cuzco and with the scenery of Urubamba River.
