Overview

Huchuy Qosqo Trek Machu Picchu 2D/1N is ideal when one would like to have a short adventure with the culture and magnificent sights. It will be a mountain ascending by ancient Inca paths, across mountains and little streams, green valleys. The scenery will be expansive with the magnificence of the Andes and Sacred Valley. Our guide will tell us about our local life, history of the Incas, and surviving in the high-altitudes on the way.

On the 1 st day we will begin trekking, the Huchuy Qosqo, starting at Cuzco and working toward the Huchuy Qosqo citadel. What we will come across will be high-altitude farmlands and Andean villages as well as evolving ecosystems which would be a whole different world. We will be visiting stone and adobe ruins at the location in a very slow manner with panoramic views. We shall then go to Lamay, on to Ollantaytambo, and spend the night by the afternoon train to Aguas Calientes.

We will be connected to the Machu Picchu on the second day but we will walk through the green trails to the legendary citadel. We will explore terraces, temples and plazas with a guided tour as we will articulate the Inca engineering and culture. We also get time to climb the (voluntary) Huayna Picchu to get an incredible view, take photographs and also enjoy the history. We will then visit the town, have lunch or see what is in the local market then head into the train back towards Ollantaytambo.

At the end of the day, we will go back to Cuzco by private vehicles: in the afternoon we will see the Sacred Valley transform under the sun. The excursion will make us remember mountains, ancient ruins and local culture which are rich and colourful. Within two days, we will experience an adventure, relaxation and history. Day 1

Cuzco – Chinchero – Tauca – Huchuy Qosqo – Lamay – Aguas Calientes

Hotel pick up in Cuzco We shall begin early (between 6.30 A.M. and 7.00 A.M.). Our road will lead us over expansive farm plots and Andean valley land. The landscape will be calm, little villages will be scattered over the mountains. The local customary and the history of the Inca will be narrated to us by our guide in very exciting tales.
Then we are going to touch Tauca 3,762 meters above the sea level. This is where we will pack and have our guide briefing us on the operations. The increasing part will start in ancient Inca tracks but with gentle slopes. It will be a sunrise view of fresh fog over the mountains.
We shall move on further to Abra Pucajasa where it is 4,393 meters above sea level. We will observe the variations of the scenery with the increase of altitude, rocky highlands, to green terraces. Our guide will take breaks during which he will take some pictures and will tell us how important this ancient way was.
We will then pass down to Huchuy Qosqo which is 3,688 above sea level. Inca citadel We are going to visit the stone and adobe buildings, as well as agricultural terraces. The Urubamba Valley will be breathtaking as the scenery will be.
Afterwards, we would arrive at Lamay, the 2,938 meter mark and continue on our own means to Ollantaytambo. We will be training at Aguas Calientes in the afternoon so as to spend the night in the river.

Day 2

Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu – Cuzco

We will rise very early at 5:30 A.M. and walk to this bus station. The entrance of Machu Picchu will be reached with the help of the bus. We are going to take the sunrise among misty mountains and taste the miraculous mood of the Inca citadel.
Our guided tour is going to begin at the altitude of 2,430 meters above the sea level. We will go to temples, plazas, and terraces which overlook the Urubamba River Canyon. Our guide is going to tell about the Inca engineering significance, the lifestyle, and ritualism of the site.
Things will then have time to visit the main attractions followed by a period of taking photographs and viewing of the llamas grazing on the terraces. We will go down to Aguas Calientes to have lunch or leisure time to visit the town. During the afternoon, we will board the train to Ollantaytambo and then the services of the private transport and will have the fine view of the Sacred Valley with the sunset.
