Overview

ATV Maras Moray Tour is an adventure experience which allows visiting Sacred Valley in a single adventure. The ride of the day is arranged on quad bikes over breathtaking landscapes of mountains, valleys, and rivers as our guide narrates the history of Inca nation and indigenous traditions. Every stop has excellent photographic capabilities and landscape.

The tour includes exploration of circular terraces of Moray which is an agricultural Inca construction of astonishing beauty. Our guide tells us how the Incas utilized these terraces to test their crops and how we visit the area in a slow manner as we are told how the Incas had a lot of knowledge on farming.

Next there is the Maras Salt Mines with the thousands of pools of salt glittering on the mountainside. Then we are informed of the old salt-harvesting methods and ride away through lovely valley lanes. At about 1:00 p. m. we’ll go back to Cuzco and the day will end with memories that will not be forgotten of adventure, culture and beautiful scenery.

Day 1

ATV Maras Moray Tour

Our trip will begin at an extremely early time in the historic centre of Cuzco , at about 7:00 A.M. with the hotel pickup. We will ride through bumpy scenic roads in the Sacred Valley. There will be mountains and valleys and small villages of Andes with which the guide will entertain us by telling some funny stories about the life of the Inca Empire and life in general.
When we arrive at Moray we shall pay a visit to the encircling Inca terraces. These terraces were to be used in carrying out experiments with crops at various temperatures and altitudes. We shall take pictures and admire the wonderful scenes of the scenery of the mountains. The guide will inform us on everything related to the way Incas built and utilized these terraces.
We will then take a ride through our ATVs to the town of Maras where the culture and magnificent scenery make it famous. In the process, we will see llamas, alpacas, and wild vegetation in the highlands. The white-headed Veronica and Chicon mountains will be amazing in the background. We will be riding on as the guide will continue to narrate to us cool stories about the Inca Empire.
Then we will visit the Salineras de Maras which is a system of more than 5000 salt ponds that are still operated in the old fashion. We are going to get ourselves plenty of pictures and just have fun of the scenic beauty that is present round the salt pools. The guide will tell you about the history and why the place is so special in the first place.
At last we shall ride back to Cuzco and talk about all the wonderful things we saw and did. We will get back around 1:00 P.M. This ATV Maras Moray Tour will see us with plenty of memories, unbelievable views to share and many stories to tell.
