Traveler Essentials: Planning Your Trip

Best Time to Visit Cuzco

Cuzco has two defined seasons: the dry season (May to October) and the rainy season (November to April). The dry season is ideal for trekking, offering sunny days and clear views of Machu Picchu. However, the rainy season transforms the landscape into a vibrant green, perfect for photography enthusiasts who don't mind a little rain.

Acclimatization & Health

Cuzco sits at 3,400 meters (11,152 ft) above sea level. We strongly recommend spending at least 2-3 days in the city or the Sacred Valley before embarking on any rigorous trek. Drinking plenty of water, eating light meals, and trying coca tea are excellent ways to help your body adjust to the high altitude.

Cultural Etiquette

Peruvians are warm and welcoming people. When visiting local communities or markets, always ask for permission before taking close-up photos of individuals. Supporting local artisans by buying handmade textiles is a great way to contribute directly to the families in the Sacred Valley.

Why Book in Advance?

Permits for the classic Inca Trail to Machu Picchu are limited to 500 per day (including staff) and sell out months in advance. To secure your spot on your preferred dates, especially during the high season (June-August), we advise booking your adventure at least 4 to 6 months prior to your arrival.

The Andean Experience: A Deep Dive

Exploring Peru is more than just checking destinations off a bucket list; it is about immersing yourself in a world where history, nature, and spirituality intertwine.

Legacy of the Incas

The architectural mastery of the Incas is visible in every corner of Cuzco. From the precise stonework of Sacsayhuaman to the agricultural terraces of Moray, each site tells a story of a civilization that lived in perfect harmony with the environment. Our guides are passionate about sharing these stories, ensuring you understand the significance of every stone.

Biodiversity of the Andes

Peru is one of the most biodiverse countries on the planet. During your treks, you will transition from high-altitude ecological tiers where Alpacas and Vicuñas roam, down to the lush cloud forest filled with orchids, hummingbirds, and the spectacled bear. Respecting this fragile ecosystem is at the core of our operations.

Living Culture

The Inca culture did not disappear; it evolved. In the remote communities of the Andes, Quechua is still the primary language, and ancient traditions such as weaving and the offering to the Pachamama remain a part of daily life. Traveling with us supports these communities directly, helping to preserve their unique heritage for future generations.
