Day 1

Sacred Valley – Maras and Moray – Connection to Machu Picchu

At 6:00 to 6:30 a.m. we will begin by picking the hotels in Cuzco . The Sacred Valley trip through the morning is a beautiful sightseeing of Andes, snow-capped mountains, small villages, and the local farms. New mountain air and coats of clothes will make us comfortable as we travel with the views.
The first point of visiting is Chinchero which was an ancient Inca place that was converted to a colonial church. We will visit old weaving examples, llamas, and alpacas, and tour terraces, cobblestone streets, and the colorful textiles and move on to the Moray.
At Moray, we will go through the circular agricultural terraces where the Incas practiced on the crops. The amphitheater-shaped construction and serene feeling ease one to understand the strong sense of attachment of the Incas with nature. Thence to Maras, where we see the enormous salt ponds hewn out of the mountain-side, which are still in operation.
We’ll come to Urubamba later on where we will have a buffet lunch. We’ll get to know Ollantaytambo and its magnificent fortress and paving of avenues in an afternoon. During the night, we’ll get on the train at Aguas Calientes and take up our hotel to have a rest.
