Overview
Huchuy Qosqo Trek Machu Picchu 2D/1N is ideal when one would like to have a short adventure with the culture and magnificent sights. It will be a mountain ascending by ancient Inca paths, across mountains and little streams, green valleys. The scenery will be expansive with the magnificence of the Andes and Sacred Valley. Our guide will tell us about our local life, history of the Incas, and surviving in the high-altitudes on the way.
On the 1 st day we will begin trekking, the Huchuy Qosqo, starting at Cuzco and working toward the Huchuy Qosqo citadel. What we will come across will be high-altitude farmlands and Andean villages as well as evolving ecosystems which would be a whole different world. We will be visiting stone and adobe ruins at the location in a very slow manner with panoramic views. We shall then go to Lamay, on to Ollantaytambo, and spend the night by the afternoon train to Aguas Calientes.
We will be connected to the Machu Picchu on the second day but we will walk through the green trails to the legendary citadel. We will explore terraces, temples and plazas with a guided tour as we will articulate the Inca engineering and culture. We also get time to climb the (voluntary) Huayna Picchu to get an incredible view, take photographs and also enjoy the history. We will then visit the town, have lunch or see what is in the local market then head into the train back towards Ollantaytambo.
At the end of the day, we will go back to Cuzco by private vehicles: in the afternoon we will see the Sacred Valley transform under the sun. The excursion will make us remember mountains, ancient ruins and local culture which are rich and colourful. Within two days, we will experience an adventure, relaxation and history.
