Overview
The Sacred Valley tour from Ollantaytambo is a joyous day-trip in the Valley of Incas. We are going to begin with the pick-up in a hotel in Ollantaytambo or Urubamba. The route takes a tour through the hilly terrain, rivers, and tiny Andean towns. The perspectives are free, vivid and photo ideal.
We will visit some of the marvelous Inca places such as Ollantaytambo, Moray and Maras. Strolling along terraces, temples, and stone streets provides an actual sense of what the Inca life was all about. The guide will present fun tales of farm, waterways and the local culture. Each of the stops is a mixture of the history, landscape, and local atmosphere.
Lunch shall be in a restaurant that will have outstanding mountain sceneries. We will have classic Peruvian food and have a small rest then proceed. Chinchero also finishes off the day with Inca terraces, colonial church and a textile workshop. It is possible to observe how the locals continue weaving with traditional ways.
The landscape varies with each season. Dry months are clear with warm colours whereas the rainy months turn it all green. We are going to pass through terraces, villages, and mountain sights at a slow speed.
It will be later in the afternoon that we will go back to Cuzco inspired by history and culture and mountains. The Sacred Valley tour which starts in Ollantaytambo is an ideal activity among tourists who would want to spend a whole day of culture, nature and adventure.
